Wake County Speedway's Pre-Race Concert is Back for the Country Superstars 150

After a rainy spell in May put the damper on two out of three scheduled races at America's Favorite Bullring, Wake County Speedway looks to get back to what it does best during the month of June...Short Track RACING!

Friday, June 3rd marks the beginning of a three-week stretch of back-to-back-to-back Friday nights under the lights as race teams from around the Triangle and the region prepare to fire up some high-octane Sunoco racing fuel, drop the clutch, and shift the 60th Anniversary Season season back into gear.

The Zaxby's Charger Division, which has been off since April 8th due to a rain-out in May, will serve up twin 30-lap battles on June 3rd as part of the Country Superstars 150. Also on tap, this Friday night is a 25-lap Mini-Stock race, (a division that's been off the schedule at Wake County Speedway since the Accent Imaging 150 on April 29th). The always competitive INEX Legends are back too, with a 25-lap skirmish, the up-and-coming Country Superstars Bandolero drivers will be at it again for 20-laps Friday night, and rounding out the evening's racing entertainment will be fan-favorite, the Regal Driving Academy Bomber Division, swerving their way through a 20-lap race.

We'd like to give a shout-out to the new title sponsor of the Bomber/Any Car Division, Regal Driving Academy in Oxford, N.C. Look out for their new orange-white-and blue R.D.A. stickers on the Bomber cars soon, as each points-competing Bomber driver must have the division sponsor's decal on their race car.

The other BIG news for the first race in June at the Bullring, is the return of the "Rock the Ring" pre-race mini-concert. The first Rock the Ring was held on opening night, back on April 1st, and featured Motley Crue tribute band, Mostley Crue, playing in front of some

2,000+ race fans. The show was a huge success, offering Wake County Speedway fans a chance to rock-out along the front stretch for a high-voltage rock show experience while the band cranked out a tight, four-song set from atop the Victory Lane stage.

The fan feedback after opening night was so great, that the speedway has added a second show to the season schedule but this time, in the form of a Fuquay-Varina-based band, fronted by brothers Landon and Aubrey Digh (pronounced like "die" or "dye", "2Digh4."

"We decided to change things up a bit for our second pre-race mini-concert by adding a country artist to our line-up", said Charlie Hansen, Track Promoter. "2Digh4 will play a 20-minute, four-song set featuring some country/rock favorites and a surprise or two that we think our race fans will really like."

In case you might be wondering about 2Digh4's musical chops, rest assured, they know how to put on a good show, having been invited to perform at the Carolina Country Music Festival in Myrtle Beach, SC in 2016 and at the pre-race fan fest at Charlotte Motor Speedway in 2018 as part of the Coca-Cola 600 #NASCAR Cup race.

2Digh4's Rock-the-Ring pre-race show, powered by Pounds Towing, will start at 8 pm and is included in the regular admission price to the Country Superstars 150. Following the concert, as fans re-enter the grandstands from the front stretch, the invocation and National Anthem will be performed, with the green flag dropping on the first of the twin Zaxby's Charger Division races around 8:45 pm.

Tickets will be on-sale Friday night at the main gate ticket booth beginning at 6 pm.
